It inhibits acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS), an essential enzyme in the biosynthesis of branched-chain amino acids, leading to disrupted protein synthesis and weed growth suppression. Its residual soil activity ensures prolonged weed control with minimal crop competition.

Mode of action
AHAS (ALS) Inhibitor: Blocks the synthesis of valine, leucine, and isoleucine, essential amino acids required for plant growth, leading to weed death.
Systemic Action: Rapidly absorbed through leaves and roots, translocated throughout the plant for effective pre- and post-emergence control.
