    Mode of Action

    Pymetrozine belongs to the pyridine azomethine chemical class and has a distinctive mode of action: rather than acting as a nerve poison, it selectively disrupts the feeding behaviour of sap-sucking insects. Within a short time of ingestion, treated hoppers stop probing and feeding on plant sap, effectively starving even though the insect may remain alive on the plant for some time afterward. Because it acts on the insect's feeding mechanism rather than a broad nerve pathway, it is highly selective for hoppers, plant/leafhoppers and related sap-sucking pests while being comparatively gentle on many beneficial and predatory insects when used as directed. It is translaminar and locally systemic within treated leaf tissue, giving good coverage of the pest's feeding sites.

    How to Use

    1. Scout the field/orchard regularly and confirm the correct dose per acre from the current product label once hopper populations approach the economic threshold.
    2. Make a thin paste of the required quantity in a small amount of water, then dilute this gradually into the full spray tank volume while stirring continuously so the water-dispersible granule disperses evenly.
    3. Spray using a knapsack or power sprayer fitted with a flat-fan or hollow-cone nozzle, directing the spray toward the base of paddy tillers or into the orchard canopy where hoppers congregate, for best contact with the target pest.
    4. For paddy, spray at the first sign of brown plant hopper build-up rather than waiting for visible hopper-burn symptoms, since damage can progress quickly once populations peak.
    5. Respect the waiting period before harvest listed for each crop above.
